My source is failing me. If you are just tuning in now to the saga of my obsession with the BBC spy extravaganza known as Spooks in the UK and MI-5 in the States (when they deign to show a few chopped and diced episodes years after the fact), you may not know of [...]

I literally felt disoriented watching Richard Armitage’s interview for BBC Breakfast–they showed an amazing teaser. John Thornton’s voice in the body of an MI-5 spook. Spookitage is really here!
I should have the material from The Source this week. I will be blogging about it, but I promise to put spoiler warnings in when I do so. I’ll [...]

SPOOKITAGE!
(Spoilers, including some from previous seasons. You are hereby warned.)
I’m hyperventilating. Yes, that blob below is the trailer for Season 7 of Spooks. One featuring Richard Armitage looking gloriously alpha-tormented-hero-esque, sans shirt, in his best John Thornton glowering form.
The season premiere drops October 27th. I guess I know what I’m doing October 28th/29th, Mystery Source permitting.
Word has [...]

Thanks to Junec and hedgeypig for making this edition of Spookitage, The Obsession possible. The Spooks, Season 7 promo piece below is from a sort of British cable a British in-flight magazine, which (still) makes it very scoopy, indeed, for those of us on the wrong side of the ocean. Scathing analysis to follow.
I don’t know about [...]

Update: So I’m back from the show. It was really good. Not excellent, but really quite good. And, yes, there was plenty of Daniel Radcliffe prancing about in the altogether. The staging was incredible. The portrayal of the horses so well done. There were only a few things I’d have changed. The first would be the [...]

The BBC hasn’t decided when to start airing episodes of Spooks 7, but that has not stopped the obsessed from obsessing about the fact that the two things in popular culture she obsesses about the most have actually merged into one: North & South’s Richard Armitage + Spooks. Spookitage.
So I’m in full Spookitage mode. Do you think the [...]

I met my third Englishman in New York the other day. That’s three more Englishmen than I’d met in decades on the West Coast. I’m really not sure how I got this far without realizing how much I like the English. Well, actually I’m sure it was because before New York, the only time I’d [...]
