Marianne / Sherri / Liz

Acheron author Sherrilyn Kenyon with Rebels Marianne and Liz (wearing her Black Swan Posse shirt!)

We’ve got in our hot little hands, four AUTOGRAPHED copies of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Acheron.  And we want you to have them.

Why?  Because we’re celebrating, dammit!  We’re celebrating the release of Marianne’s latest, Razor Girl.

And there’s a kicker: two books will go to a winner in the U.S., and the other two will go international.  That’s right, my foreign friends, real live signed hardcover copies of Acheron will be mailed to your home soil.

Germany?  No problem.  Japan?  Absolutely.  UK?  Happy to oblige.  Australia?  No worries.  Zimbabwe?  Of course.  Anywhere.  We’re talking anywhere.  So when you enter, be sure to include in your post whether you are in the U.S. or International bucket.

Now for the rules:

  1. Read the excerpts for Marianne’s Razor Girl and Liz’s Irreversible.
  2. Post a comment on the contest page (Here.) about the excerpts.  An example of a possible comment might be, “Oh, my god, that was the best excerpt I’ve ever read in my entire life.   You are brilliant.  I feel as though my life is now complete.”  Or perhaps, “The subtlety and nuance of your prose is reminiscent of the work of Nobel Prize Winner ___________.”
  3. Go fix yourself something to eat and get some sleep; we’re not picking winners until August 25th.

If we do not hear back from the winner within five days of announcing the results, the prize may be awarded to someone else…gosh, that would be so sad.  Don’t let such a tragedy happen to you: stay tuned to the blog.  We’ve got plenty to keep you entertained!

  1. The Razor Girl excerpt grabbed me — like being caught in a huge ocean wave and thrown under for an unendurable few minutes until I struggle, desperate for air, to stand again on unsteady wet sand… wow. Counting the days until it comes out.

The Irreversible excerpt has Leonardo! The sexy English dude from Wired! Oooh, (happy squirm in my seat) and he’s still so baaad! Can’t wait to see what messes he makes in this book, or how Diedre fixes them! I so love strong women.

  2. Ok, so I’ve been waiting for some great new books to come out, and I’m happy that they’ll be from you guys.
I got obsessed with the Shomi Fiction stuff after I read Moongazer…then Wired.

Razor Girl sounds amazing! Oh how I just LOVE masses of festering zombies, and any romance involving said zombies has to be fabulous.

Irreversible – let me just say that I saw the word Smartie and got very very excited. I loved Wired, and then I passed it on to all of my friends (who also loved it.) Then, Leonardo! Double whammy. It’s a little ridiculous how excited I am.

Let me just finish by saying, I love you guys, and thanks for letting the world know that romance doesn’t have to be about some weepy dame and a ‘Fabio-clone’ coming to ride to her rescue with his throbbing loins.

  3. Razor Girl sounds so awesome! There are not many zombie novels out there that get my attention and this one defintly got my attention!

Irreversible was really detailed and very thrilling, I wanna know what happens next!!

Please pick me to win, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE an autographed copy of Acheron!! I have never gotten to meet Sherrilyn in person so this would freaking rock!!

Thanks gals for such an awesome contest!!

  4. From NC in the US. :P

The Razor Girl had me reading and into it before I realized it. I love the Monty Python ‘flesh wound’ thing, whether that’s what you were trying for or not. :P It made me laugh. – I love how Chase is strong even in the short piece we get to see. Strong for Molly. I’d love to read this book now!

Irreversible…it’s not my type of book. It’s really hard to understand what’s what because the ’smartie’ thing and ‘flipping the room’ and the description of the floor. It’s just too confusing in general. But, I’m a picky reader…

  5. Liz, loved the commentary about time and it’s instability — the way he mentions it at the beginning and then again towards the end, when he talks about controlling it. And then omg then, how the present folds back to the past…very nice.

Marianne, great usage of the medieval plagues for this futuristic story. And I loved how the writing keeps pace with the way the story moves through the action. Even in the depth of his despair, he’s thinking of the greater good that Molly will achieve and is thinking of her and her relationship with her father. What a hero!!

FYI…please take me out of the running for this contest. It’s a treat to read your excerpts.

  6. Hi Liz and Marianne!

The Razor Girl freaking rocks, believe me, anything with zombies is high on my Cool list. I like this quote: “I’m all slimy,” he said. “Zombie gook. You know. I’m going to go find a fountain or something to wash off.” Heh heh heh

Irreversible – also, very awesome excerpt! I love the writing, it makes it easy to image how that situation would go. Apart from a few “huh?” moments, I liked it a lot. I’d had to read more to understand it, hint hint, LOL.

Guys, I love both excerpts and can’t wait to read Razor Girl and Irreversible! :D

  7. Oh, my god, that was the best excerpt I’ve ever read in my entire life. You are brilliant. I feel as though my life is now complete. Just kidding..but I did love the suggested comment ; ) Both of these books sound excellent! I was just reading an excerpt of Acheron today while browsing around online, and it sounds just a little addicting. Great blogs!!!

  8. These 2 excerpts are really great Im so looking forward to reading these 2 books they are truely amazing.

  9. Wow! That was really creepy! Both of them. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Excellent!!! I’m really looking forward to reading Razor Girl. I love Marianne’s writing style. Fast paced and very fun to read. And how often does a romance author tackle zombies? Quite a refreshing change from all the vampire stories that are out there. Really, really awesome! And Liz’s story seems very intriguing. Mysterious. Definitely something I would like to read more of. Great job, to both of you!

  10. Hey, guys, I read the excerpts and loved both of them–very different from each other, and different from anything else out there at the moment.

The idea of time alteration is fascinating (Cryptonomicon!), and I loved Wired, so I am excited about reading Irreversible.

Marianne, your excerpt is heart-racingly thrilling, and I love that you used zombies, and some sort of apocalyptic occurrence in a totally fresh way. I am looking forward to reading it all.

  11. Hi, this is Petra from Germany.

I just found read about you guys yesterday in my new issue of Romantic Times Reviews so I googled you. I didn’t even know about SHOMI. Marvelous find!

Razor Girl: Zombie movies are among my favorite horror films, like Dawn of the Dead or 28 Days Later, but I have never read a zombie novel. The action in the excerpt is really vivid and gross, just the way it should be. I love the writing style. This is a sure buy for me!

Irreversible: I’m not so certain what is going on here, but you had me at “wingtip”. Sounds very interesting and I would like to read more. Time travel seems to be a part of this and I love that.

Fortunately you both already published books, so now I am off to buy those and I am looking forward to the release of these two. Good luck!

  12. Wow, what great excerpts. I am intrigued to see what happens next in both books.

  13. Maybe it’s the movie references in the Razor Girl excerpt, but now I’m thinking of “Shaun of the Dead” and “Torchwood” after reading these two. It’s rather fitting, cause I could see these scenes on the screen (big or small).

(Toss my entry in the international bucket, please.)

  14. By the way, I’m in the US bucket!

    Still salivating over those excerpts…
